Description :

Boat manufacturers have a long history of adapting their streamlined technology to motorhomes. Such is the case with this 20-foot 1970 Glastron Motorhome, manufactured by the Glastron Boat Company of Austin, Texas. Like many other motorhomes of the era, the Glastron was equipped with a 318 engine and a fiberglass shell mounted on a Dodge M-300 chassis. The Glastron’s shell is, amazingly, just one piece of fiberglass hand fitted to the safety-cage frame. This unit, thought to be the first of nineteen units manufactured, sold for $12,000 in 1970, a steep price when a similar sized Winnebago cost about half that amount. Gary and Lisa Sebastian own the Glastron. Photographed at the Deming Log Show Grounds, Bellingham, Washington.
