Description :

Grand Slam motorhomes were produced by Champion Home Builders from the early 1970s until 1980. Champion introduced a similar vehicle, the Flagship-Champion, in the early 1980s, but that model met the same fate as the Grand Slam and the last Flagship rolled out the door in 1985. This 1979 23-foot Grand Slam is a quality motorhome constructed with a steel frame, aluminum sides, and a one-piece fiberglass top. The noncorrosive fiberglass and aluminum have served this motorhome well. Over twenty-five years after it was manufactured, thanks to the care given by its owners, the body is still in showroom condition. The power plant is a Dodge 360 engine, which transfers its energy via a 3-speed automatic transmission to a 4.10 rear end with positraction. Owned by Ken and Lee Evensen. Photographed in Camp Dearborn, Michigan.
